In the ancient world, city-states are small countries considered to be centers of culture and civilization where people interact under a unified Government. Its politics which transpires in the polis. Consequently, the origin of the word suggests that politics is a term that encompasses all human activities that transpires within the city-state. As it is applied now, it denotes everything that transpires in the state as well as among states.
Politics is the science of government. As a science, it is a comprehensive (mostly practical) body of knowledge dealing with government and regulation, maintenance and development, and the state s protection and increase. It also addresses the protection of its citizens rights, the safeguarding and enhancing of morals, and the harmony and peace of human relations.
